Adaptive Server Enterprise is a relational database management system application. It was predominantly used on UNIX platform but is also available for Windows. What it does is to handle enormous demands on large databases and high transaction volumes at an excellent cost.
With the management are included disk encryption, smart partitioning, and fast query processing technology with better performance than other popular choices which has also been enhanced to support unstructured data management with low risks.
It works by compressing one data-server which hosts several databases, what makes it faster is that some of these databases store only meta-data used by the system. The rest keeps application data in the form of tables and stored procedures for the users. As in the matter of security once logged into a data-server there are permissions set that will grant access or not to the user.
Some features to be released include column-level encryption and the ability to mount a database dump as a virtual database to extract only the information required.
